Are you a detailer? Awesome, great cool, congrats. You have chosen an honarable profession. Decent money too, huh?..

I mean, a decent detailer can net over $500 a day. Not bad. Not bad at all. $500 a day, 20 days worked a month, $10,000 a month income, not net of course, but, $10k gross. So, you sub the detail supplies, any other minor expenses, and you are off and running to the bank.

But..

sorry, had to go this route..

But. I have to pick this good thing apart, friends.

You see, we are all looking to make more $$, and work less hard, if you will. And detailing, is work. Not as hard as roofing or concrete work, but more hard than lets say, financial analyst, or video rental counter helper.

So, the bad news is, detailing is work, and there is a limit to how much you can make, so, how can you make work less hard, while increasing your income, right.?

I mean, isnt that the goal? Less time working, more money coming in. A nice formula, and although rather simple to understand, not so simple to employ.

Thats where I come in. Im here to pass along some ideas to make the above formula easier to reach.

Once again, the formula:

More $$ + Less time working = awesome life

So, how , pray tell, Brian, can this be achieved?

1) Work less. Yeah I know thats in the formula, but heres some ideas on HOW..
A) Hire others to assist you so you can sell more business. That could mean a detail assistant or full blown detailer whom handles your initial business while you market it.

B) Bring on a sales person to grow your business more. The only problem with this idea is, you will work more if the person is successful..oops..do this AND hire others to help you.

Ok, at this point, weve just offered two options to help you grow the business. Problem: You might work less, but you will manage more, so the headache factor can grow with more people, and that in and of itself is not a guarantee for more income, it is however, a guarantee for more expenses.

2) Upsell. Now were talkin. You can use this strategy on your current business clients to immediately grow your income. Yes, by selling more services to your clients, that does mean more work. Either you can do it or you can hire for it, but more revenue is guaranteed since it is not a question of can you sell it..you already have the clients, and they buy what you suggest. Thats the beauty of being a detailer...you are trusted and you respect the relationship with your client and benefit from such a business relationship.

3) Sell related products. You can sell automotive related products to your clients and beyond. Could be air fresheners, to wheels to stereo and video components and more. I know detailers who sell 10 times their monthly income in detailing in wheel sales. Nice perk, and it isnt much extra work, for the bang per buck.

So to recap, Ive given you several ideas on how to make more $$, and hopefully work smarter, and ultimately, less, so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Face it..you cant make time, so make money and ENJOY your time!

Best wishes,
and Happy Pushing!
